Ms. Kinder is a native to the Central Valley. She was born and raised in the city of Clovis, graduating from Clovis High School (class of ’07). The act of arguing comes as second nature to Ms. Kinder. At the age of 7 her father told her that she should become an attorney, and ever since then she has worked hard to make that happen.

Janay Kinder is a Certified Law Clerk that is in her last year of law school. While a student at San Joaquin College of Law, Ms. Kinder participated in the George A. Hopper Moot Court competition where she received the awards for Best Brief (written) and Best Oral Advocate-Semi Finalist. Ms. Kinder will be graduating with her Juris Doctorate in May of 2017. She previously graduated from California State University of Fresno with her Bachelors in Political Science and received her legal studies certificate.


As a Certified Law Clerk, Ms. Kinder is allowed to negotiate for and on behalf of the client subject to final approval thereof by the supervising attorney or give legal advice to the client, appear on behalf of the client in depositions, and appear on behalf of the client in any public trial, hearing, arbitration, or proceeding, or before any arbitrator, court, public agency, referee, magistrate, commissioner, or hearing officer, to the extent approved by such arbitrator, court, public agency, referee, magistrate, commissioner, or hearing officer.

Ms. Kinder joined the law firm as a certified law clerk in October 2015 and has had experience writing writs and appeals and trial preparations in a variation of cases. Ms. Kinder has had success is addressing the retroactivity of Proposition 57 as it applies to juveniles in Fresno Court. She has also had success in handling writs that address the medical care an inmate receives.
